IELTS লিসেনিং পেপারে 13 ধরনের প্রশ্ন আসে। প্রতিটির জন্য আলাদা পদ্ধতি আছে — কোনটিতে কী করতে হবে আর কোন ভুলটি সবচেয়ে বেশি নম্বর কাটে, নিচে প্রতিটির জন্য আলাদা করে দেওয়া আছে।
The IELTS Listening paper uses 13 question types. Each one is marked differently and each has its own method. Below is what to do and what to avoid for every single one.
The golden rule for the whole Listening paper
অডিও শুরুর আগেই পরের প্রশ্নগুলো পড়ে নিন। উত্তর সব সময় অডিওর ক্রম অনুসারে আসে। একটা মিস হলে সঙ্গে সঙ্গে সামনে এগিয়ে যান।
Read the next questions before the audio starts. All answers follow the audio order. If you miss one answer, move forward immediately.
Multiple choice - one answer
Do: শোনার আগে প্রশ্ন ও অপশনগুলো তুলনা করে পড়ুন। শেষ পর্যন্ত বক্তার আসল অর্থ শুনুন এবং ভুল অপশন বাদ দিন।
Do: Read the question and compare the options before listening. Listen for the final meaning and eliminate wrong choices.
Do not: যে শব্দটা প্রথম কানে এল সেই অপশন বেছে নেবেন না - বক্তা পরে সেটি সংশোধন বা বাতিল করতে পারেন।
Do not: Choose the first option whose word you hear; the speaker may correct or reject it.
Multiple choice - multiple answers
Do: কতটি উত্তর চাওয়া হয়েছে দাগ দিন। শোনার সময় প্রতিটি অপশন আলাদাভাবে যাচাই করুন।
Do: Mark how many answers are required. Check every option separately while listening.
Do not: একটি উত্তর পেয়েই থেমে যাবেন না, আর চাওয়ার চেয়ে বেশি অপশন বাছবেন না।
Do not: Stop after finding one answer or choose more answers than requested.
Matching
Do: আগে অপশন তালিকা পড়ে পার্থক্যগুলো খেয়াল করুন। সমার্থক শব্দ শুনুন এবং যেটি নিয়ে কথা হচ্ছে সেটিই মেলান।
Do: Read the option list first and notice the differences. Listen for synonyms and match each item as it is discussed.
Do not: অপশনের হুবহু শব্দের জন্য অপেক্ষা করবেন না - অডিওতে সাধারণত প্যারাফ্রেজ করা হয়।
Do not: Wait for the exact words from the option; the audio usually paraphrases them.
Plan labelling
Do: শোনার আগে শুরুর বিন্দু, প্রবেশপথ ও স্থির ল্যান্ডমার্ক খুঁজে নিন। বক্তার পথ ধাপে ধাপে অনুসরণ করুন।
Do: Find the starting point, entrances and fixed landmarks before listening. Follow the speaker's route step by step.
Do not: বক্তা যখন পরের জায়গায় যাচ্ছেন তখন পুরো প্ল্যানে চোখ ঘোরাবেন না।
Do not: Look around the whole plan while the speaker is moving to the next location.
Map labelling
Do: দিকনির্দেশক শব্দ ও কাছের ল্যান্ডমার্ক দেখুন। রুটে চোখ রাখুন এবং বক্তার সঙ্গে এগোন।
Do: Check direction words and nearby landmarks. Keep your eyes on the route and move with the speaker.
Do not: ছবি দেখে অনুমান করবেন না, আর অডিও এগিয়ে গেলে পুরোনো উত্তরে ফিরবেন না।
Do not: Guess from the picture or return to an old answer after the audio has moved on.
Diagram labelling
Do: আগে অংশ ও তিরচিহ্নগুলো দেখে নিন। ফাঁকা জায়গায় noun, সংখ্যা না মাপ লাগবে তা আগেই অনুমান করুন।
Do: Study the parts and arrows first. Predict whether the gap needs a noun, number or measurement.
Do not: শব্দসীমা উপেক্ষা করবেন না, নিজের বানানো কারিগরি শব্দ বসাবেন না।
Do not: Ignore the word limit or use your own technical word.
Form completion
Do: উত্তরের ধরন আগে অনুমান করুন - নাম, তারিখ, দাম না ফোন নম্বর। বানান ও সংশোধন মন দিয়ে শুনুন।
Do: Predict the answer type, such as a name, date, price or phone number. Listen carefully for spelling and corrections.
Do not: সমার্থক শব্দ লিখবেন না; বক্তা পরে সংশোধন করলে প্রথম তথ্যটি রাখবেন না।
Do not: Write a synonym or keep the first detail if the speaker corrects it later.
Note completion
Do: হেডিং পড়ে প্রতিটি ফাঁকের ব্যাকরণ অনুমান করুন। নোটগুলো অডিওর ক্রমেই অনুসরণ করুন।
Do: Read the headings and predict the grammar of each gap. Follow the notes in audio order.
Do not: নোটের হুবহু শব্দের অপেক্ষা করবেন না - একই অর্থ শুনুন।
Do not: Wait for the exact wording of the notes; listen for the same meaning instead.
Table completion
Do: আগে সারি, কলাম, একক ও শ্রেণি দেখে নিন। প্রতিটি উত্তর ঠিক ঘরে বসান।
Do: Check the row and column headings, units and categories first. Keep each answer in the correct cell.
Do not: ভিন্ন কলাম, তারিখ, ব্যক্তি বা দামের তথ্য মিলিয়ে ফেলবেন না।
Do not: Mix information from different columns, dates, people or prices.
Flow-chart completion
Do: তির ও ধাপগুলো ক্রম অনুসারে অনুসরণ করুন। প্রতিটি ধাপের আগে কী ধরনের শব্দ লাগবে অনুমান করুন।
Do: Follow the arrows and stages in order. Predict the kind of word needed before each stage is heard.
Do not: ধাপের মধ্যে লাফাবেন না, ভুল ধাপের তথ্য লিখবেন না।
Do not: Jump between stages or write information from the wrong step.
Summary completion
Do: প্রথমে পুরো সারাংশটি পড়ুন যাতে বিষয় ও প্রবাহ বোঝা যায়। প্রতিটি ফাঁকের শব্দ-ধরন অনুমান করুন।
Do: Read the short summary first to understand the topic. Listen for paraphrased ideas, then write the exact answer heard.
Do not: সারাংশ না বুঝে প্রতিটি ফাঁকের জন্য আলাদাভাবে শব্দ খুঁজবেন না।
Do not: Wait for every word in the question to be repeated in the audio.
Sentence completion
Do: বাক্যটি পুরো পড়ুন এবং ব্যাকরণগতভাবে কী বসবে ভাবুন। শব্দসীমার মধ্যে শোনা শব্দই লিখুন।
Do: Predict the missing word type and listen for the matching idea. Check that the completed sentence is grammatical.
Do not: শোনা শব্দ পাল্টে দেবেন না বা অতিরিক্ত শব্দ যোগ করবেন না।
Do not: Change the heard word or exceed the stated word limit.
Short-answer questions
Do: প্রশ্নটি কী চায় ঠিক বুঝুন এবং শব্দসীমার মধ্যে সবচেয়ে ছোট সঠিক উত্তর লিখুন।
Do: Read the question and word limit first. Write only the required fact using the words or numbers heard.
Do not: পূর্ণ বাক্য লিখবেন না বা প্রশ্নের উত্তর নয় এমন শব্দ যোগ করবেন না।
Do not: Write a full sentence or add extra words that break the limit.
