IELTS রাইটিং টাস্ক ১ পেপারে 10 ধরনের প্রশ্ন আসে। প্রতিটির জন্য আলাদা পদ্ধতি আছে — কোনটিতে কী করতে হবে আর কোন ভুলটি সবচেয়ে বেশি নম্বর কাটে, নিচে প্রতিটির জন্য আলাদা করে দেওয়া আছে।
The IELTS Writing Task 1 paper uses 10 question types. Each one is marked differently and each has its own method. Below is what to do and what to avoid for every single one.
The golden rule for this paper
Use four paragraphs: Introduction, Overview, Body 1 and Body 2. Select key features and comparisons. Do not give an opinion or write a separate conclusion.
চার প্যারাগ্রাফ: Introduction, Overview, Body 1, Body 2। মূল বৈশিষ্ট্য ও তুলনা বাছুন। মতামত দেবেন না, আলাদা conclusion লিখবেন না।
Line graph
Do: Find the time period, overall direction, peaks, lows and major changes. Group lines with similar or opposite trends.
সময়কাল, সামগ্রিক গতিপ্রকৃতি, সর্বোচ্চ, সর্বনিম্ন ও বড় পরিবর্তন খুঁজুন। একই বা বিপরীত ধারার লাইনগুলো একসঙ্গে করুন।
Do not: Describe every year or every data point one by one.
প্রতিটি বছর বা প্রতিটি ডেটা পয়েন্ট একে একে বর্ণনা করবেন না।
Bar chart
Do: Compare the highest, lowest, similar values and major gaps. Group related categories together.
সর্বোচ্চ, সর্বনিম্ন, কাছাকাছি মান ও বড় ব্যবধান তুলনা করুন। সম্পর্কিত শ্রেণিগুলো একসঙ্গে করুন।
Do not: Write one separate sentence for every bar.
প্রতিটি বারের জন্য আলাদা বাক্য লিখবেন না।
Grouped bar chart
Do: Compare within each group and across groups. Choose the clearest two or three patterns for the overview.
প্রতিটি গ্রুপের ভেতরে এবং গ্রুপগুলোর মধ্যে তুলনা করুন। overview-এর জন্য সবচেয়ে স্পষ্ট দুই-তিনটি প্যাটার্ন বাছুন।
Do not: Jump randomly between categories and make comparison difficult to follow.
শ্রেণির মধ্যে এলোমেলোভাবে লাফালে তুলনা বোঝা কঠিন হয়ে যায়।
Stacked bar chart
Do: Compare total bar sizes and the contribution of each segment. Check whether the scale shows totals or percentages.
বারের মোট আকার ও প্রতিটি অংশের অবদান তুলনা করুন। স্কেল মোট না শতাংশ দেখাচ্ছে যাচাই করুন।
Do not: Treat the top position of a segment as that segment's value.
কোনো অংশের উপরের অবস্থানকেই সেই অংশের মান ভাববেন না।
Pie chart
Do: Identify the largest, smallest and similar shares. For several years, compare the main changes in proportion.
সবচেয়ে বড়, ছোট ও কাছাকাছি অংশগুলো চিহ্নিত করুন। একাধিক বছর থাকলে অনুপাতের প্রধান পরিবর্তন তুলনা করুন।
Do not: Use increase or decrease language when only one time point is shown.
শুধু একটি সময়বিন্দু থাকলে increase বা decrease-এর ভাষা ব্যবহার করবেন না।
Table
Do: Scan rows and columns for extremes, similarities and patterns. Group data instead of reporting every cell.
সারি ও কলাম স্ক্যান করে চরম মান, মিল ও প্যাটার্ন বের করুন। প্রতিটি ঘর না লিখে ডেটা গ্রুপ করুন।
Do not: Turn the response into a long list of numbers.
উত্তরটিকে সংখ্যার লম্বা তালিকা বানাবেন না।
Mixed / combination visuals
Do: Find the common topic linking the visuals. Give one overview covering both and organise details by relationship.
দুটি ভিজ্যুয়ালকে যুক্ত করা সাধারণ বিষয়টি খুঁজুন। দুটোকে ঢেকে একটি overview দিন এবং সম্পর্ক অনুযায়ী বিস্তারিত সাজান।
Do not: Write two unrelated mini-reports and ignore connections between the visuals.
দুটি অসংযুক্ত ছোট রিপোর্ট লিখে ভিজ্যুয়াল দুটির সম্পর্ক এড়িয়ে যাবেন না।
Map or plan
Do: State the biggest overall changes and what stayed unchanged. Group changes by area, direction or time period.
সবচেয়ে বড় সামগ্রিক পরিবর্তন এবং কী অপরিবর্তিত থাকল তা বলুন। এলাকা, দিক বা সময় অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তন গ্রুপ করুন।
Do not: Guess why changes happened or describe every tiny feature.
কেন পরিবর্তন হলো অনুমান করবেন না, প্রতিটি ছোট বৈশিষ্ট্য বর্ণনা করবেন না।
Process diagram
Do: Count the stages, identify start and end, and state whether it is linear or cyclical. Describe stages in order, often using passive voice.
ধাপ গুনুন, শুরু ও শেষ চিহ্নিত করুন এবং এটি linear না cyclical বলুন। ধাপগুলো ক্রমে বর্ণনা করুন, প্রায়ই passive voice-এ।
Do not: Give an opinion, explain unshown reasons or skip stages.
মতামত দেবেন না, না-দেখানো কারণ ব্যাখ্যা করবেন না, ধাপ বাদ দেবেন না।
Object / device / system diagram
Do: Explain the purpose, main parts and how the system works in a logical sequence. Use only information shown.
উদ্দেশ্য, প্রধান অংশ এবং সিস্টেমটি কীভাবে কাজ করে যৌক্তিক ক্রমে ব্যাখ্যা করুন। কেবল দেখানো তথ্যই ব্যবহার করুন।
Do not: Add technical knowledge that is not present in the diagram.
নিজের কারিগরি ব্যাখ্যা বা বাইরের তথ্য যোগ করবেন না।
